Firefly Mosaic Jewelry
Founded in the late 1990s by Edward Rudnicki, Firefly Jewelry was born from a deep love for Latin American culture and a transformative visit to Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala. There, Edward met the Chavajay family and began a partnership that continues to flourish today. Co-designed by Edward and lead designer Juan Carlos Chavajay, Firefly’s mosaic jewelry reflects the beauty of nature, gardens, and the vibrant colors of Guatemala.
Each piece is handmade in Firefly’s Guatemalan workshop, which provides fair wages, skill training, and a bright, peaceful environment for its talented artisans. Traditional crafts like embroidery and weaving have been reimagined into jewelry-making techniques, producing intricate designs that are both rich in detail and full of soul. With a studio in Oakland, CA, and a deep connection to its roots, Firefly is now transitioning to the next generation, as the Chavajay brothers prepare to carry the torch forward.
Firefly Jewelry is more than adornment—it’s a celebration of artistry, heritage, and community.
